What IS a Retreat?
It’s an opportunity to reset, rest, reflect, restore, repair, rejuvenate and reconnect with yourself. In the busyness of life we often don’t make the time to truly nurture ourselves, often it feels impossible or an indulgent luxury.
It is when we get onto our mat, that we can take time to support ourselves in the present moment. A retreat offers us more than just a sixty minute class to tune in and gift our minds and bodies what they most need.
I’ve been attending yoga retreats for my own wellbeing for nearly thirty years. My first experience of yoga was on a weekend retreat and I didn’t want to leave! Since then I have assisted on many and hosted many of my own, most recently at St. Marks Stays, Oceano Spa Hotel, Old Kilmun House and day retreats at Beechbrae. My next offerings are with Suzy Bolt in March 2025 and Gillian Shippey in January 2026 details below:

Rest, Reflect, Restore
Begin 2026 with a retreat in a beautiful country house in Cumbria with myself and Gillian Shippey at St Mark Stays from 9th-11th January. We will create the space you need to rest, reflect, restore and reconnect with yourself, so that you start the new year from a place of self-care. Along with everything we have on offer, you will have lots of space and time for yourself to just be. The house has lots of spaces to relax in, with a huge garden to enjoy some fresh air. There will be restorative yoga sessions, gentle movement, breathwork, meditations and lots of nidra. The town of Sedbergh in 3 miles from the house, and there are footpaths into the countryside from the house for those who enjoy walking. You are welcome to come along and do as much or as little as you like.
